This innovative, 18 Page, school readiness test is typically taken by the end of Grade R to determine whether a child is ready for the formal work and workload of Grade 1. It will determine a learner’s level of functioning regarding the following:
1. MOTOR DEVELOPMENT
2. VISUAL-PERCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT
3. AUDITORY-PERCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT
4. MATHEMATICS
5. LITERACY
6. EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
7. SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
The test can also be done mid-year to determine whether intervention is needed or how to adapt the rest of the year’s lesson planning. This gives the teacher enough time to intervene before the children need to be ready for Grade 1.
